Canucks vs. Blackhawks Wednesday night

Ugh! That is about all there is to say about Vancouver’s Monday effort in Minnesota – a 2-0 loss to a team that had just one regulation win in 11 games. Now it is off to Chicago for the Canucks to play a team that is 9-1-1 in their last 11 games and are licking their chops at the prospect of kicking their hated rivals when they are down.

Tonight a heated rivalry writes another chapter –

The Canucks appear to have had a few things worked out after their home win on Saturday night only to get blanked by one of the worst teams in the NHL.

The Canucks are 3-5-2 in their last 10 games and have lost five of seven while getting outscored 26-7 in those games.

Vancouver’s offense has slipped to sixth in the NHL and the Sedins looked to have cured their intense slump with seven combined points in two games prior to Monday’s blanking. Still, Henrik Sedin is the hottest Canuck offensively with four points in three games although those four points have been all that he has mustered in his last 11.

Daniel Sedin has three points in three games and Chris Higgins continues to be the most consistent offensive contributor with six points in six games.

Mason Raymond, pointless in eight games, spent Monday’s game in the press box – hopefully it will spark the Canucks biggest underachiever this year.

Roberto Luongo will return to the nets on Wednesday and it may not be a good thing. Lou is 0-3-0 with a 5.30 goals against average and an .845 save percentage in his last four appearances.

The Blackhawks are playing their best hockey of the season and strangely it has come with Jonathan Toews on the sidelines with a concussion. The team is 9-4-1 without their Captain and 9-1-1 in their last 11 overall.

The Hawks have climbed to fourth in the Western Conference and finally look like the elite team that many expected.

The Hawks are fourth in the NHL in goals for – 2 places ahead of the Canucks. Patrick Sharp has been absolutely scorching and has five goals and seven assists in his last nine games (five points in his last three).

Andrew Shaw has five points in two games, Bryan Bickell has four points in two games and Duncan Keith has five points in two games. Chicago is firing on all cylinders and is going to be difficult to stop.

Corey Crawford should start in goal for Chicago. He has shaken his early season struggles and has gone 4-0-0 in his last four starts with a 1.07 goals against average and a .952 save percentage.

Dave’s wont cost you anything Canucks vs. Blackhawks betting prediction

The Vancouver haters are coming out in full force and you can bet the Canucks players are hearing it! It seems like just yesterday when Vancouver was in the middle of a similar slump when they went into Boston and turned their season around.

I am not saying that the same will happen but I am expecting a way better effort from the Canucks on Wednesday night.

The time for coasting is OVER. Now it’s time to start ramping up for the playoffs.

In a tighter game than most predict, take the home team to keep their insane roll going.

Pick: Chicago Blackhawks -105

Game 73 Canucks vs. Blackhawks: Windy City Rollin’
- NWSB Vancouver Canucks insider Josh Hall implores fans to be patient in the home stretch. It could be a grind or it could be a snoozefest. Is Ryan Kesler the key to the powerplay being successful? Can Alex Burrows assist in the exorcising of the demons once again versus the Chicago Blackhawks. We’re sure Patrick Kane will have something to say about that.
